How nice
it is to get back to a normal routine at school. I am always
amazed that I seem more tired after a half day of school compared
to a full day of school. Now that we are back in the routine I
will be sending home new spelling words today. They will be
tested on their words next Wednesday. Feel free to keep the
list at home until Wednesday.
Homework
Each day
in class we are going over the previous night’s
homework. After I do a check of who has turned in homework;
students correct their own as we go over them. Students are
encouraged to take their corrected homework
home.
SNACK
Thanks to your generosity at the beginning of the year snack lasted
us a full trimester. However, we are down to our last bag of
pretzels. If you could please help us restock it would be
greatly appreciated.
Skill of
the Week
In literacy block and within our class students have been
working on writing summaries about what they read. As your
child reads at home have them orally (or in writing) share what
they are reading. When giving a summary of what they read they
should only include the major details. A retelling of the
story, which differs from a summary, includes both major and minor
details.
