Google Apps for Education (Online VersionAUDIENCE: Any staff member interested in using Google Apps

CLASS DESCRIPTION: This online course challenges participants to experience many aspects of Google Apps for Education through the management system of Google Classroom. These applications include Gmail, Contacts, Calendars, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawing and many more applications. Teaching Digital Citizenship:(Online Version)  AUDIENCE: Any staff member interested in using technology in the classroom.

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Sign in an take this online class to learn about what digital citizenship is and how to teach it to our students in grades K-12. Participants will enroll in a digital Google Classroom and complete the assignments to earn a certificate and 3 continuing education clock hour credits. New Teachers - 35 new certificated staff members were introduced to our Districts Sustainable Classroom Technology on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 1:00 -3:00 in the EMS Library. Facilitators: Terry Parker / Bob Kilmer
 
Teacher Support - Help with ActivInspire, Skyward, EMail and Swift Migration will all be available at EHS in room 1013 from 7:30-9:30 in the morning. This time will be used to support individual needs. Very little formal instruction but a lot of hands on learning. Bring your charged laptop. Facilitator:   Bob Kilmer
 
A Safari Montage multi-media server was installed on 9/13/12. Sixty eight teachers volunteered to take part in a pilot of this multi media system and were given a one hour demonstration of the systems features on 9/20/12 in the high school auditorium. The pilot started on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 and will run until December 10, 2012.  A decision to purchase was made and the new server was installed and ready by 2/25/13. District wide access was made available on 5/31/13. All staff will had a 30 minute introduction on August 27, 2013. Six follow up work sessions are offered to support teachers in creating playlists and using the system.
 
Refresher &  IWB Support Class - Are you new to the district and feeling a little overwhelmed with technology? Returning to your room and finding a brand new Promethean Board hanging on your wall?  Haven’t thought about technology all summer and need a refresher to get up and running? This class is designed to review the basics and provide time to practice using ActivInspire software and your document camera. It will help refamiliarize you with the tools and techniques that will get you through the first weeks of school looking like a tech star. The instructor will model and assist participants while they practice in small groups on Promethean Boards. Bring your charged laptop to Westwood and Room 106. Facilitator: Camie Went
 

Substitute Teachers - Our substitute teachers were offered a series of 4 optional training opportunities in August and September 2012. These training sessions were two-hours in length with one-hour of independent study. Three clock hours were offered for each of these courses and substitute teachers were allowed to take more than one session. If you are interested in more trainings, use the contact link to let us know.

Para-Professionals and Building/District Office Office Staff - Our plan for training building para-professionals and office staff will involve offering a after-school, optional 2-hour training sessions. These courses will be custom-designed to better suit the work environment of our classified staff members.  More information about these courses can be found on the documents page of this site.

Existing Teachers/Administrators 
- We will offer various professional development activities to our existing teachers/administrators schedule. (TBD)  Our ITF Teachers will have regular trainings by (Jake Voss - ACT) and Bob Kilmer at the monthly ITF meetings.  Each building ITF Teachers will offer short mini-sessions at administrator discretion during faculty meetings.  In addition, the ITF Teachers have been authorized to offer 2-hour, district-wide, after school trainings on technology topics throughout the school year.  These specially designed courses will be open to all teachers/administrators and long-term subs, and to substitute teachers on a space-available basis.  Participants will receive three clock hours for each of these courses. Also it is our intention to also provide mini technology training sessions during our K-5 Grade Level Meetings using the Think Central Site and our Math Expression Tools.
