Homework Policy
I assign homework because it helps students reinforce the materials and skills learned in class. Homework also helps to prepare for upcoming lessons and review material for future assessments. Homework will be assigned an average of three times per week. Most assignments should take less than an hour, but test and project preparation may take longer. All homework will be checked. Scores and grades will be updated weekly on Family Access. It is the responsibility of the students to do the best they can on their homework. I expect the students to do their own work. I expect that the students will turn in their work neatly done and on time.
Students and parents must make homework a top priority by setting a time and place for homework to be done well. Supplies, praise, support, and rewards must be given to encourage students to succeed. Please feel free to contact me whenever homework issues become a problem at home. If there are legitimate reasons why a student could not finish the homework assignment, please send a signed note stating the reason the assignment was not completed.

Grades
Grades are based on percentages of accumulative points for the semester. Points will be given for daily work, quizzes, chapter tests, cumulative semester final, lab work, lab reports, and presentations. There will be no “make-up days” or extra credit assignments during the semester.
