I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Matthew Gaynor and I am honored to be your child’s math teacher. I am excited to be at Thunder Mountain Middle School and working with an excellent staff. I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead. Your child’s grade will consist of 10% Class Participation, 40% Homework, Class work, and Warm-up Exercises, and 50% Quizzes and Tests. Every Thursday night they should ask you for a signature on their Math Assignment Sheet. Late work will be accepted up to 2 weeks late for 60% credit. I am usually available for help before school or during lunch. Here is a little information about me. I moved to Enumclaw in 1990 with my wife and two children. Both of my kids have passed through the Enumclaw School District. I received a bachelor degree from W.S.U. and a Masters in Teaching from City University. I enjoy coaching, weightlifting, basketball, and competing in the Scottish Highland Heavy Athletic Games. I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship.
