Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is open to all students to discuss personal, social, and academic concerns. School counseling is not therapy but rather brief, short-term support for students during crises situations, immediate personal concerns, or other issues that may be hindering their academic achievement and focus in school. The school counselor is available throughout the school day to check-in with students as situations arise. If a student if referred to work on a specific topic with the counselor, parent permission is required.  With permission, students can meet with the school counselor for about six, 20-30 minute sessions on a designated day/time that works with their classroom schedule.

Families that are interested in having their child meet with a counselor on a regular basis may want to get connected with a local counseling agency. Please talk with Mrs. Kelly  to find out more about these services.
